POSITION EXPECTATIONS Position Expectations The Career Workshop Facilitator program curriculum to enrolled job seekers, providing on-going counseling, and mentoring to program participants, and providing other assistance that will increase and improve the placement and retention of participants. The Career Workshop Facilitator will collect and analyze workshop evaluations to ensure that the needs of the job seekers are being met. This position will also continue to assess the need for additional classes while ensuring the continued success of current workshops. Their responsibility includes developing learning activities to promote engagement, creating the monthly calendars, monitoring class enrollments, and ensuring handouts and other materials are on hand when needed. Responsibilities * Communicates curriculum to workshop participants. * Works closely with Career Coaches with regards to the workshop needs of the center participants. * Conducts job readiness and soft skills training in an individual or group setting. * Schedules workshops, create workshop calendar, and track attendance. * Reaches out to Goodwill team members, partner employers and others in the community to be guest speakers when appropriate. * Ensure that all workshops have been assigned to a proper facilitator and that a backup facilitator is available. * Serves as the backup for the Director of Disability and Volunteer Programs as needed and/or directed. * Evaluates the effectiveness of workshops through dialogue and client evaluations to ensure the needs of the job seekers are being met. * Creates activities that are relevant and that help teach the class concepts. * Updates workshops as needed to keep the subjects and activities relevant. * Assist in the creation of new workshops as needed. * Follow-ups with employers concerning referrals to determine placements. * Assists with tracking and evaluation projects (i.e., submits weekly/monthly reports to management, collect data for periodic institutional reviews, etc.). * Assists in any other projects or tasks as determined by management. Education, Experience, and Requirements * High school/ GED completion or an Associate's degree in any related field preferred. * Minimum of 1 year training facilitation experience. * Knowledge of career counseling theory, the career planning process and the ability to use feedback constructively to coach and counsel job seekers regarding career plans. * Ability to research and design instructional modules, including effective exercises, case studies, simulations, tests and other instructional learning aids. * Familiarity with Las Vegas valley labor market, business community, human services, and a working knowledge of disability-related issues. * Ability to connect with people from a wide variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and lifestyles. * Must have ability to work with diverse groups of individuals. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite software including a strong emphasis on Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Must possess strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication skills. * Bilingual a plus. * Exhibits a high level of integrity and business ethics. * Exhibits a high level of adaptability and flexibility. Environmental Factors * Majority of duties performed in an office environment with regulated temperatures. Physical Factors * Able to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 25 pounds. * Prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, lifting, pulling, carrying, sitting at a desk, and working on a computer.
