Product Design Stylist - Luxury Home Textiles
Location: Woodbury, NY Onsite: 5 days/wk
Ideal Years of Experience: 5+ years as a Textile Colorist/Stylist in the luxury textile industry
Travel- possibility/in time (India, etc.)
Software Skills: - MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) - Adobe Photoshop - color matching + formulation software (i.e. Datacolor, X-Rite)
We are currently seeking an experienced and creative Product Design Stylist to join our dynamic design team in Woodbury NY. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for color, a deep understanding of color theory, and a passion for creating luxurious high-end textile products. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to translate color trends and inspiration into sophisticated color palettes that meet our brand's high standards.
Responsibilities Include:
• Develop and create innovative color palettes for carpet & rugs in woven, tufted, and printed categories, ensuring alignment with the brand's aesthetic and market trends. • Collaborate with designers, product developers, and high-end clients to develop products based on their specific needs and preferences. • Utilize advanced color matching techniques to achieve precise color standards across various textile materials. • Research and analyze high-end design & color trends to present to the design team and clients. • Conduct quality control and assurance testing throughout the production process to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and consistency. • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during initial development & production. • Maintain detailed product development records. • Provide expert advice and recommendations on color choices and combinations. • Develop a deep understanding of the premium residential replacement market in soft flooring. • Manage vendor relationships to enhance their capabilities in order to meet quality and product expectations, adherence to process and meet delivery timelines. • Effectively communicate with the mills on a daily basis from beginning to end of the development process. • Ensure that approvals are issued within the necessary timeframes to achieve delivery deadlines.
Qualifications Include:
• Bachelor of Fine Arts in Textiles Design, Apparel Design, Surface Design or related field. • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Textile Colorist/Stylist in the luxury textile industry. • Strong understanding of color theory, color trends, and color matching techniques. • A passion for luxury textiles & home furnishings and a keen sense of high-end fashion and interior design trends. • Experience with production approvals. • Proficiency in color matching and formulation software (e.g., Datacolor, X-Rite). • Highly organized. • Exceptional attention to detail and a meticulous approach to color accuracy. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Understanding of visual and instrumental color evaluation procedures with accurate and consistent technique. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
