Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our scientific research team in the Department of Medical Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI). Our Laboratory studies mechanisms of cancer initiation and progression as well as development of novel therapeutic targets. We use genome scale systematic approaches to discover cancer-specific genetic vulnerabilities & decipher molecular pathways underlying cellular transformation and therapeutic resistance. Responsibilities * Technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought. * Design, conduct, and troubleshoot hypothesis-testing experiments. * Design, conduct, and validate high-throughput, hypothesis-generating screens. * Mentoring of research technicians and undergraduate students. * Maintain detailed and understandable lab notebooks and records. * Interpret, discuss and present research findings with lab members and the principal investigator. * Use computational approaches to analyze complex data sets, including next generation sequencing data sets, and/or effectively collaborate with computational biologists. * Develop figures to depict research findings, write research and review papers, and present at scientific meetings. Qualifications * PhD or MD/PhD with concentration in molecular biology, cellular biology, cancer biology, computational cancer genomics or related discipline. * Mammalian cell line and organoid culturing techniques. * Proficiency in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques. * Self-motivation, collaborative spirit and ability to work in a group setting. * Able to write scientific reports and present scientific findings.
