Position Summary We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst Intern to join our Investment and Asset Management team. The core focus of this role will be underwriting new investment opportunities and asset managing our growing commercial real estate portfolio. Responsibilities Investment Management * Build / maintain acquisition and development cash flow models to evaluate potential opportunities, including various deal structures (e.g. joint venture, etc.). * Conduct transaction due diligence including local market research, sales comps, rent comps, construction costs, real estate taxes, and other necessary underwriting assumptions. Coordinate / assist third parties with diligence materials and requests. * Prepare institutional quality presentation decks and written memos for Investment Committee and investors / third parties. * Work collaboratively with various stakeholders throughout the underwriting process. * Provide seamless post-acquisition integration into Asset Management. Asset Management * Build a comprehensive understanding of our portfolio, including local markets, property cash flow drivers, value creation opportunities, and potential resolution strategies. * Maintain asset management models and reporting packages for monthly Asset Management meetings, including historical financial performance, pro-forma projections, variance analyses and written narratives from Operations. * Work closely with internal stakeholders in the preparation of operating budgets, forecasts, and capital plans. * Prepare reports and analyses as needed for external stakeholders (e.g. lenders, equity capital partners, etc.). * Provide ad-hoc analyses for various assets and Corporate. Education: * Bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Accounting related field is required. * Master's in Finance or related field preferred Qualifications * 1+ years of experience, preferably working in an Acquisitions or Operations capacity within the Commercial Real Estate industry. * Advanced Excel modeling skills highly preferred (knowledge of VBA is a plus). * Knowledge of Argus is highly preferred. * Knowledge of Yardi is preferred. Knowledge and Skills: * Excellent organizational skills to meet demands and hard deadlines. * Detail oriented team player with ability to work independently. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
