Senior Consulting Utility Forester - Los Angeles

We are currently looking to add a dynamic UVM Specialist to our passionate team of environmental professionals.

Inspect distribution utility right-of-ways and access to Right-of-Way (ROW) areas, for compliance with state clearance standards. Identify needed tree and brush control work and provide information to line-clearance crews. Document work using hand-held computer. Notify property owners of pending work on their property. Audit work completed by contractors. Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues. Special projects as assigned. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and storms as needed. Qualifications

Education and Qualifications: Previous experience successfully working as Utility Vegetation Management Technician or equivalent experience in the industry will be required. Professional or Collegiate Practical Tree Work Experience (including Collegiate Climbing Classes, Forestry Club Operations, Production Climber, Groundsman, or Lift Operator, etc). Proficiency with local Tree Identification and Tree Physiology. ISA Certified Arborist or ability to obtain in 6-12 months. Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License. Current Driver’s License and Driving Record in good standing. Proficient working knowledge of computers. Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint. Company Overview

POSITION: Senior Consulting Utility Forester TYPE: Full-Time Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee daily vegetation operations and lead a team of foresters. Train, direct and coach team members to grow professionally and personally. Build a culture of safety and excellence. Provide contractor support and respond to customer complaints and concerns. Interact with local public agencies (i.e. State, County, City, Fire Department, etc.). Conduct grid reviews, inspections, and crew safety observation reports. Provide status reports for management. Desired Qualifications:

Two or four year degree in horticulture, forestry, urban forestry, environmental science, natural resources or related discipline. 2 years utility right of way vegetation management experience. International Society for Arboriculture (ISA) certified arborist, or able to become one within 1 year of appointment. Organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail. Ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather. Clean DMV driving record and ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle. Self-driven desire to improve processes and procedures for client and company goals. Required Qualifications:

Clean DMV driving record and ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle on rough roads. Two or four year degree in horticulture, forestry, urban forestry, environmental science or a related discipline, or has more than 3 years of utility vegetation management experience. What We Offer:
