VP - Product Development for Cloud Excellence

Location:

Dallas, TX

About this role:

Blue Yonder is looking for an experienced engineering leader responsible for building and driving a highly productive product development team delivering Cloud Automation for Blue Yonder’s industry-leading supply chain solutions and for driving continuous improvement in Cloud operational excellence across the entire portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities:

Build and support standardized Cloud automation for continuous integration and continuous delivery across all Blue Yonder services. Specifically, deliver a common automation framework for deploying, testing, promoting and monitoring services with support for zero downtime deployment, synthetic health probes, feature flags, rolling updates, roll back and other best in class cloud native automation practices.

Provide guidelines, standards and drive internal adoption for automated deployment, test, update and operation to all product development teams responsible for the development and delivery of Blue Yonder’s supply chain solutions on the Blue Yonder Platform.

Work with other senior leaders to drive a technology strategy that accelerates the delivery of Blue Yonder’s enterprise solutions on the Blue Yonder Platform.

Provide a continuous operational excellence improvement strategy including operational readiness reviews across all dimensions of non-functional requirements for SaaS services.

Fully automate operational excellence release gates to maintain and grow maturity over time.

Be a resource to the entire Blue Yonder organization in areas of SaaS automation, resilience engineering and operational excellence including joining incident response calls.

Responsible for recruiting and managing a global SaaS Automation development team of top talent in the industry.

Manage within an agile framework and continuous delivery model that supports ongoing PI planning and 2-week sprints.

Review and leverage new technologies needed to ensure the Cloud Automation is differentiated in the marketplace with capabilities including but not limited to: cloud agnostic deployment technology, blue-green/canary deployment, test automation, monitoring, alarms, dashboards, telemetry, event management, security/authentication, and reporting.

Foster a customer-first culture in which you deliver what you commit to with unsurpassed reliability, performance and scale.

Provide guidance, feedback, coaching, and developmental experiences to the team.

Skills and Qualifications:

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent; Master’s Degree preferred.

Minimum of 15+ years of experience in software engineering team and process management.

Minimum of 7+ years of Software as a Service engineering and management.

Minimum of 5+ years of CI/CD pipelines, tools and infrastructures for applications deployed in the cloud.

Strong communication skill including verbal, written and interpersonal.

Resourceful and able to manage shifting priorities.

Experience developing a scalable, high-performing SaaS automation with tested methodologies and tools of iterative, asynchronous development. Agile is a must. DevOps is a must.

Experience managing complex development, test, integration, and production environments with different versions, building new environments, and providing support for existing ones.

Experience with SCM environments for multiple parallel development efforts and complex branching strategies.

Collaborative, but confident leader who can ensure adoption of SaaS automation standards.

Ability to lead, connect with and inspire large teams and build leaders who do the same.

Broad technical expertise that will inspire and encourage creative, collaborative problem solving.

Demonstrated experience in vendor evaluation, contract negotiation and comparative financial analysis.

Cloud experience, specifically working with Azure (preferred) or AWS.

Experience working with diverse teams across wide geographical regions, both US and International.

Able to navigate seamlessly between setting a strategy and executing/implementing.

Ability to travel frequently (50%).

Salary Range:

The Salary Range for this position is $121,685.50 to $275,639. The salary range information provided reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
