As the Vice President, Corporate Marketing you will lead our strategic marketing efforts to enhance brand visibility, drive book sales, and foster reader engagement across multiple platforms, with a strong emphasis on digital content creation. Reporting directly to the head of Global Communications and Marketing, you will collaborate closely with editorial, sales, and the imprints' marketing and publicity teams to develop and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns that align with our publishing objectives and resonate with our target audience.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop Marketing Strategy:

Create and implement strategic marketing plans for new book releases, backlist titles, and author branding initiatives, with a focus on digital channels.

Advertising strategy

: Oversee media planning, campaign optimization, programmatic advertising, and analytics, and pursue strategic partnerships with advertising partners.

Promotional assets:

Lead the production of creative assets, delivering impactful designs that support the campaign objectives, while optimizing workflows and processes to support the increasing demand for assets.

Email program management:

Manage the growth and development of the email marketing program, including subscriber acquisition, content development, and email design, and leveraging automation and personalization at scale to drive engagement and sales conversions.

Digital Content Creation:

Lead the development of engaging digital content, including but not limited tosocial media assets, blog posts, email newsletters, videos, podcasts, and interactive media.

Audience Engagement:

Identify target demographics and market segments; develop tactics to grow and engage our reader community through compelling digital content.

Brand Management:

Ensure brand consistency and integrity across all digital marketing channels and communications.

Analytics and Reporting:

Utilize data-driven insights to optimize digital campaign performance, track KPIs, and report on marketing ROI to senior management.

Partnership Development:

Cultivate relationships with digital influencers, bloggers, online communities, and industry stakeholders to expand our digital footprint.

Budget Oversight:

Manage the digital marketing budget effectively, allocate resources efficiently, and negotiate contracts with digital agencies and platforms.

Team Leadership:

Mentor and manage a team of marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture in digital content creation and marketing.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in marketing roles within the publishing industry, with a strong focus on developing digital content and executing digital marketing campaigns.

Digital Expertise:

Proven experience in creating and optimizing digital content across various platforms, including social media, websites, email marketing, and digital advertising.

Strategic Thinker:

Strong strategic planning and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business goals into actionable digital marketing strategies.

Leadership Skills:

Exceptional leadership abilities with experience managing teams in digital content creation and digital marketing.

Industry Knowledge:

Deep understanding of current trends and best practices in digital marketing, social media, SEO/SEM, content marketing, and consumer behavior.

Technical Knowledge:

Proven experience with marketing technology, including email service providers (ESPs) and CRMs, social and web content management systems, and analytics tools, as well as ad management platforms such as Google, Meta, and Amazon

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively present digital marketing strategies to senior executives and stakeholders.

Creative Vision:

Innovative thinker with a passion for storytelling and a creative approach to digital content and marketing strategies.

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable.
