About the role * Our Quality Department, composed of over 5 people, is focused on performing routine laboratory analysis for process control and finished product. * As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring quality of sodium bicarbonate product and ensure that it meets all manufacturing and customer specifications. You will get the opportunity to contribute to the growing Soda Ash family and have a positive impact on transformation journey of Solvay. * You will be accountable for: * Performing routine laboratory analysis for process control and finished product. * Manual and instrument based analytical techniques * Follow SOPs and established routines for sample preparation and instrument operation * Set up and monitor instrument based analytical runs * Enter and review data on both paper records and computerized systems * Adhere to established scheduling and timeframe requirements * Identify out-of-trend data or potential instrument issues, and communicate to appropriate team members * Perform instrument calibration, instrument maintenance, and basic troubleshooting. * Prepare laboratory standards and solutions. Includes calculating dilutions, molarity, and gravimetric calculations. * Perform general laboratory housekeeping as needed. * Work on special projects under the direction of the Lab Lead or Quality Supervisor. * We offer a Full-time permanent contract based on an onsite working mode. About you * BS or AAS degree in a science related field with at least one year of applicable experience, or at least 5 years of applicable experience. * Competencies: * Must be able to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining efficiency. * Must possess excellent communication skills. * Ability to work safely and follow safety, housekeeping, environmental, and chemical hazard procedures. * Behaviors: * Attention to detail * Agile * Organized About the pay and benefits * Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the USA base pay reasonably expected for this role is $28.09/hr to $33.01/hr, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience.
