The R&D Product Support team is looking for a dynamic and engaging  R&D Manager to lead the Product Support team.  The successful candidate will be a leader who can connect product requirements with customer needs and quickly troubleshoot issues.  They will manage an existing R&D team and will coach and mentor a team of four scientific staff, leverage internal and external partnerships, and collaborate with leadership across IDEXX to deliver project goals to agreed upon timelines. What will you do? * Provide people management support for a highly skilled technical team. * Draw from your broad experience in either chemistry, biochemistry, and/or biophysics to effectively guide the team to complete projects connected to our on-market products. * Collaborate and communicate with internal stakeholders and external partners as needed to coordinate work, resolve challenges, and reach project goals. * Develop and maintain knowledge of our products and procedures together with new developments in the diagnostics industry. * Drive programs to meet milestone deliverables by providing clear direction to the team. * Develop team members by providing timely and effective guidance and mentorship. * Gain commitment and support for decisions, skillfully utilize change management techniques, and resolve conflict effectively. * Build and sustain organizational respect and trust at all levels. * Prepare reports and other information summarizing work activities, and report results to peer groups as well as senior management. What do you need to succeed? * Bachelor's degree with 10-12 years of experience or a Master's degree with 8-10 years of experience or a PhD with 5-7 years of experience required. * Technical areas of relevance include biochemistry, biophysics, biotechnology, chemistry, or a related engineering field. * Demonstrated experience in a leadership/management role with a minimum of 3 years of management experience is required. * Advanced organizational skills: capable of managing and prioritizing a large number of projects and tasks at various stages of development. * Strong understanding of manufacturing, test, documentation and quality requirements for in-vitro diagnostic products. * Results oriented with a sense of urgency to deliver quality results on time and in a highly ethical and professional manner. * Project management skills with knowledge of all phases of project management and the use of project management tools. * Attention to detail. * Strong scientific documentation and meeting management skills. * Ability to manage projects without direct authority. * Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with all employee levels.
