Position Title: Director, Technical Sales Support Department: Sales About AGI AGI is a global food-based infrastructure company publicly traded in Canada. The Opportunity The Technical Sales Support Director will lead the team of technical specialists to provide technical support to all North America business opportunities from opportunity development, quotation proposals, thru commissioning and post-sale service. The Manager will both lead this team and provide individual contributions. They will be key in opportunity scope definition for the RFQ to quote and assist Sales in closing deals through on-site support, client visits and remote technical assistance; reviewing equipment specs, engineering drawings, flow charts, etc.… Furthermore, they will provide technical recommendations to ensure continuity across divisions. Lastly, they will provide leadership through influence to support functional teams including engineering, markets, sales, manufacturing, service and support. Responsiblities: * Manages the team of Technical Support Specialists: schedules workload, communicates priorities, resolves conflict, engages interdepartmentally and cross-functionally, establishes goals, and monitors performance * Technical Sales Assistance: Support North America Sales to assist in closing deals through both on-ground support/visiting clients & remote assistance - providing sales arguments & reviewing competitive quotes to determine application fit. * Work with Application Engineering for input on Engineering Drawings, Flow-Charts, Etc.: Providing suggestions on layouts and ways to optimize equipment & site. * RFQ Review and Development: Assist Sales to develop high-quality, detailed RFQs and equipment lists and work with the Divisions so quotes match customer expectation and design intent. * Train and assist Quote and Engineering teams to ensure best product configuration to satisfy customer needs and business performance, which will include travel to customer sites to measure and collect data on new or proposed equipment. * Support customer experience group to provide second level of technical support. * Provide field feedback to the Product Management group on product improvements and competitive intelligence. * Review Hazard Monitoring offering and its relevance on projects: * Inspection of Equipment at Factory: When required for large projects that require continuity across divisions & high profile/higher risk orders. * Technical Support On-Demand: Assist Product Support Group when required due to resources &/or product knowledge. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or Agriculture or equivalent experience. Experience: 10+ years relevant experience in agricultural equipment manufacturing, agricultural engineering, product development, or other relevant technical field. 3+ years in a leadership capacity. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Must possess strong organizational and leadership skills. * Superior mechanical aptitude with a strong background in machinery design. * Strong Project Management Capabilities * Previous experience in equipment manufacturing is preferred. * Excellent communicator, both verbal and written. * Ability to work independently or as part of a team. * Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability * Ability to own personal development and gain an understanding of the equipment that AGI manufactures, how it is produced and why designs are made the way they are. * Ability to think analytically and make accurate and timely decisions. * Highly organized with excellent time management skills. * Exercises good judgment, initiative, and a strong work ethic. Software Application and Technical Knowledge: * Advanced skills with: Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD Why AGI?
