Job Description: The Continuing Education Instructor will act as a Teacher Coach for the CTE Teacher Certification program.Essential Functions / Characteristics Serve as an instructor, coach, mentor, and assessor for a small cohort of Teacher candidates throughout the July - June year-long program. Participate in and implement Mentor Training Workshops. Participate in quarterly Teacher Coach meetings. Conduct quarterly Community of Reflective Practice (CORP) meetings. Conduct initial with candidate(s) at least monthly. Develop and guide each candidate's Professional Learning Plan. Assess each candidate's submissions of Key Assessments for all program elements of Rhode Island Professional Teaching Standards (RIPTS). Assess each candidate's dispositions, including a review of pre-assessment, mid and end of program assessment. Assess candidate(s) video-taped teaching submissions; at least five submissions. Review quarterly candidate(s) portfolios. Understand and acknowledge that candidate(s) and the Program Director will evaluate the CTE Teacher Coach annually. Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school. Minimum of three years' experience as a CTE certified teacher or CTE director. Preferred Qualifications Five years' experience as a CTE teacher or CTE director. Master's Degree in Education. At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
