Overview POSITION SUMMARY: Oversees the outreach and recruitment of trainees for the Paid Training Program. Promotes program by building relationships with Community Agencies and Education institutions to identify potential clients. Works with Community Employment Centers. Coordinates with Human Resource Recruiters to identify, interview, and hire trainees into the program and during placement into permanent positions at GISD. Collaborates with the Learning and Development Manager to ensure smooth transitions for the trainee into the program and after completion into a permanent position. Researches and informs our ambassadors about education opportunities. Assists career advisors and managers in coaching their ambassadors on educational opportunities. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential Functions Statement(s): Outreaches and builds relationships with Community agencies through phone calls, visits, and online presentations to recruit for the Paid Training Program. Researches and recommends new sources for promoting the Paid Training Program in the community. Ensures promotion material for the Paid Training Program is current and available for distribution. Identifies new opportunities to promote the program in our different communities. Prescreens applications on iCIMS, conducts phone interviews, schedules online or in person interviews with Paid Trainee and HR Recruiters Coordinates with Community Employment Centers to plan outreach events, coordinate interviews and provide support with screening job seekers for the Paid Training Program. Attends outreach events and career fairs as needed. Coordinates with the HR Recruiters at hiring events to identify and interview job seekers eligible for the Refers job seekers to Community Employment Centers if not eligible for the Paid Training Program and to Human Resource Recruiters if job seeker meets requirements for a direct hire. Coordinates with Human Resources and departments to ensure trainee completes contingencies, receives schedule for onboarding and first day on the job. Reaches out to sponsors at agencies to identify wrap around services to provide extra support for the client as needed. Communicates with Learning and Development team and Human Resource recruiters through the process for hiring trainees to permanent positions once trainee completes the program. Tracks and maintains database for the Paid Training program. Provides monthly and yearly Paid Training Numbers for Board Reports. Research and gains information about education opportunities in the community for our ambassadors. Informs ambassadors about education opportunities through regular email announcements. Maintains education portal on GISD website. Assists ambassadors, as needed, in registering for a course or applying for a program. Guides Career Advisors and managers on coaching ambassadors in pursuing education opportunities that meet their career needs, interests, and schedule. Meets regularly with the Director of Workforce Development and participates in team meetings. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed. Qualifications SKILLS & ABILITIES: Education: GED or High School education required, AA degree, Certification in related field, BA or BS degree preferred Experience: Requires advanced job knowledge, education, and minimum 5 years experience in related field upon hire or 5 years of GISD experience in level 4 or 5 position, or combination of past experience and GISD experience equals 5 years Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills, MS Office, MS Project, email, internet Certificates and Licenses: Must have a valid CA driver's license, proof of insurance and driving record acceptable by Goodwill's insurance company.
