Star Furniture Company, a proud Berkshire Hathaway Company, is seeking a HR Director. Star is a premium furniture company that operates ten beautifully curated showrooms throughout South Texas. As the HR Director you will oversee and manage all aspects of Hunan Resources. The successful candidate will have a strong talent management background with experience designing and implementing a wide array of talent management and development programs. The HR Director will be a member of the leadership team, partnering with leaders to build and develop high performing teams, and responsible for managing all aspects of the team member lifecycle. The HR Director will oversee a small team who are responsible for all operational duties of the HR function including but not limited to: compensation & benefits, performance management, team member relations, compliance, policies, and procedures. Job Responsibilities: * Partner with the leadership team to proactively support a culture of learning and development within our salaried corporate staff, showroom sales and support staff, and warehouse team members. * Design and implement necessary leadership training and engage with leaders to identify areas of opportunity. * Lead the performance management process for all team members including communication, training, supporting resources and compliance. * Conduct annual talent reviews to identify talent risks and growth opportunities for team members. * Design and execute development plans for high-potential team members. * Lead recruiting efforts for salaried positions and own the onboarding and assimilation of new managers. * Serve as the main point of contact for managers and leaders and support them with hiring, onboarding, and development of hourly team members. * Partner with leaders to address team member relations issues. * Provide consultation to team members on our processes and policies and manage compliance risks. * Lead and participate in HR projects needed to improve efficiency and team member experience. * Lead and participate in compensation structure reviews for hourly team members. * Work as Business Partner to the President and other leadership team members on strategic matters and salaried team member reviews and salary administration. Knowledge & Skill Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field. * Proven experience (8+ years) in progressively responsible HR leadership roles. * Strong background in talent management * Strong relationship-building skills * Proven track record of building collaborative partnerships with business leaders. * Demonstrated ability to support the development of high-performing teams. * Knowledge of and the ability to oversee operational HR duties. * Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities * Demonstrated ownership and accountability. * Ability to perform effectively in an environment with changing workloads and priorities.
