Position Summary Under the general supervision of the State Archivist and Coordinator of the Wisconsin Historical Records Advisory Board (WHRAB), this 15 hour/week LTE position supports the work of the WHRAB in carrying out its strategic plan and as described in the Board's application for an NHPRC Board Program grant. The assistant handles communications with Board members, stakeholder groups, and partner organizations; arranges for meeting rooms and lodgings; handles trip expense vouchers; takes minutes at meetings; prepares information for the WHRAB website and submits the information to the Wisconsin Historical Society's website. This WHRAB Assistant also manages the annual Governors Archives Awards and scholarship programs. This position is also responsible for surveying recordkeeping organizations in the State of Wisconsin to create a comprehensive document identifying collecting repositories. The Assistant will be responsible for compiling lists of repositories, communicating with collecting institutions, creating a survey form, and synthesizing collected data. Salary Information Pay is $17.00 per hour. This classification is in schedule and class 02-01. Please note this is a Limited Term Employment position so it does not include paid time off or benefits upon hire. Job Details A criminal background check will be conducted by WHS prior to an offer of employment to determine if the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job. This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position and limited to 1,039 hours. This position will be part time and average 15-20 hours per week. Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions. Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status. WHS does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States. Certain positions within WHS may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process. Qualifications * Excellent organizational skills. * General knowledge and understanding of library or archival practice. * Proficiency using MS Office applications. * Ability to work effectively independently and as a member of a team. * Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, with supervisors, colleagues, and public. * Excellent written and oral communications skills.
