As the Merchandise Assistant Buyer, you will assist the manager with the department's omni-channel strategy. In this role, you will support the team by leading turnover meetings, tracking delivery statuses, and monitoring sales and inventory results. This person must establish critical relationships with cross-functional partners to support the brick-and-mortar and online businesses. You will report to the Sr. Manager Buying This is a 12-month Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement. What You Will Do * Assists the Manager in the creation of the department's omni-channel strategy. * Manage a sub-category within the department ensuring the assortment meets the financial and assortment goals. * Own the E-Commerce turnover process for the department including tracking and presenting photo samples, creating turnover sheets, and attending weekly fast-track meetings where needed. * Participate in departmental and team meetings, including departmental cross-functional business meetings. Analyze business weekly and identify styles for inventory chase. * Establishes relationships with omni- channel partners including Site Merchandising, Parks, Marketing, and Guest Services to ensure the department's product strategy is implemented accurately. * Reports on omni-channel market trends, identify white space opportunities, and competitive analysis for assigned sub-categories. * Ensure all items and information are pulled into the Monthly E-Commerce Handover and Fast Track Files. Review & provide proofing comments for initial product URLs, copy & photography. * Responsible for managing the assigned department's range plan including item setup, updates, and stage sets. * Send Monthly business recaps. * Select weekly product features for the homepage and Emails (JIRA) for assigned sub-categories. * Review and advise on Pub/Buy Report 3x a week. * Guide to new Disney Store vendors through the vendor setup process. * Partner with site merchandising to ensure assortment discovery for assigned sub-categories. Required Qualifications & Skills * 2 years of related Buying experience * Solid presentation skills and ability to influence internal and external partners * Self-starter, motivated, proactive, dedicated * Excellent organizational and project management skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Able to balance multiple tasks and assignments * Resourceful, innovative, and adaptable to change * Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Keynote) Education * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Additional Information Disney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life.
