Youth Sports Coordinator JobID: 3347 Position Type: Recreation / Pool/Youth & Senior Services Coordinator Date Posted: 7/12/2024 Location: Recreation Department Additional Information: Show/Hide Summary: This position will oversee and manage all youth sports programs offered to the Zeeland community, while working under the Director of Recreation and alongside our Aquatics Coordinator, Fitness Coordinator, and Leisure Coordinator. Additionally, this position will work closely with ZPS 7th-12th grade Athletic Directors to develop a unified K-12th grade athletic program. Responsibilities: * Oversee and manage all details for youth sports leagues. * Recruit, train, and manage volunteer coaches. * Recruit, train, and manage event staff. * Oversee event management. * Create game schedules. * Team formation. * Facility management. * Equipment management. * Uniform/apparel management. * Manage league rules and structures. * Current leagues: Baseball, Basketball, Cheer, Football, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Volleyball, and Wrestling. * Partner with Zeeland Public Schools Varsity Coaches to manage all details for youth sports camps. * Collaborate with ZPS Varsity Head Coaches and Athletic Directors to develop a K-12th grade athletic program that consistently pursues championships, while also ensuring every participant has a positive experience (no matter their skill level). * Evaluate all youth sports programs and implement improvements. * Be visible at youth sports programs, which includes several Saturday responsibilities, along with some weekday evening responsibilities. * Pursues additional programming to meet the needs and desires of the community. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in recreation, sports management or a closely related field. * At least one year of experience in planning/managing sports programs is preferred. Schedule: * 40 hours a week, 52 weeks per year Compensation: Salaried Position * $49,795+ depending on years of relative experience. * Full Family Insurance Benefits Replacement Position Once the posting deadline date has been met, the supervisor will review applications and schedule interviews with the most qualified candidates.
