How you Will Power our Purpose (Job Summary) Dive into a rewarding coaching adventure with the Greater Austin YMCA as a Masters Swim Coach! Your positive energy and passion for swimming will help both youth and adult swimmers reach their full potential. Take the lead in developing our Masters Swim program and create a splash in our aquatics facility. If you have coaching experience, USMS Level II, and a zest for teamwork, apply now! How You Will Make an Impact (Essential Functions) * Design and implement weekly swim workouts for Masters swimmers. * Grow and develop the Masters Swim program, encouraging participation and progress. * Provide positive and energetic coaching to help swimmers reach their full potential. * Attend and support swimmers at meets and competitions. * Assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the aquatics facility. * Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all Masters swimmers. * Collaborate with YMCA staff to ensure smooth operations of the swim program. * Maintain current knowledge of coaching techniques and swimming trends. * Comply with YMCA and US Masters Swimming guidelines and safety protocols. * Serve as a mentor and motivator to help swimmers achieve their goals. What You Bring to the Community Enterprise * Two years of previous coaching experience * High School Diploma or GED. * Minimum of 21 years of age. * USMS Level II and a current member. * Current CPR and First Aid Certifications. * Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude, and you can work well with others. * Able to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments. * Excellent customer service skills and strong communication skills. * Leverage people's differences as strengths. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, talk, and occasionally lift and/or move items, including equipment and children. Must be able to remain alert, sit or stand for extended periods of time, hear noises and distinguish distress signals, scan all areas of the pool with clear vision, perform all physical tasks related to instructing and observing participants in proper stroke techniques, communicate verbally, including projecting voice across distance in normal and loud situations.
