Project Overview: Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States and the next large-scale lithium mine. The project has all permits required to commence construction, which is expected to start in 2023. Engineering design and procurement of long-lead equipment is underway, with early works being coordinated. This project falls under the Lithium Americas umbrella of Lithium Nevada Corporation (LNC). Project site is located ~3 hours northeast of Reno at the southern end of the McDermitt Caldera in Humboldt County, NV, and ~25 miles from the Nevada-Oregon border (or ~1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, NV). The Project will be developed as an open-pit mining operation using conventional, continuous mining equipment. Given the soft, clay nature of the deposit, minimal blasting and crushing is anticipated. The ore will then be processed in a leaching circuit using sulfuric acid to liberate the lithium from the claystone. Following the leaching process, the lithium bearing solution will be purified using crystallizers and reagents to produce battery-quality Li2CO3. The Thacker Pass site has a flat and expansive terrain which allows for a very compact footprint and for future potential expansions. Bechtel will have responsibility for the full EPC/EPCM scope. Job Summary: In the role, you will support the project logistics team by performing technical or commercial logistics work. You will be responsible for performing Logistics responsibilities of major complexity in support of project requirements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements. Additionally, you will be responsible to oversee Logistics Service Provider (LSP) project operations including directing operations associated with the inbound movement of project procured materials from various domestic and international suppliers to project site or final destination. Your work will help ensure project requirements are satisfied in accordance with policies and procedures. Major Responsibilities: * Performs work as a Logistics technical, estimating, operations, chartering or commercial role supporting a moderate/large sized project with a complex scope as a deployed, dedicated resource in the home office or field * Performs domestic and international multi-leg shipment responsibilities in support of project requirements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements * Coordinates shipments with requisite internal and external entities * Ensures entry of shipment tracking data into Oracle Transportation (OTM) and other functional systems/tools to provide visibility shipment status * Prepares logistics reports or performance metrics as required to satisfy project information requirements * Ensures audit and processing of Logistics Service Provider invoices in accordance with project procedures * Identifies transport cost and service alternatives to support materials/equipment purchase decisions and use of Logistics Service Providers * Assists the project Logistics Lead as requested with capacity to provider short-term leadership * Files and resolves Logistics Service Provider claims * Prepares Logistics Service Provider commercial bid tabs, commitment authorizations and contract documents * Prepares logistics studies including site and Logistics Service Provider facility visits * Integrates safety requirements and measures in all logistics activities Education and Experience Requirements: * Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Knowledge of importing and exporting formalities and processes Knowledge of domestic and international trade and delivery terms, * Knowledge of industry packing, making, and shipping requirements * Knowledge and practical understanding of Incoterms (2020) * Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. * Career-level position within field. Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline. * A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization. * Capable of resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways. * Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions * Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. * Recognized as advanced individual contributor with specialized skill set. * Considered subject matter expert within discipline. * Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
