Join Cottage Health as the Vice President, Innovation. The Vice President, Innovation will lead and champion innovation efforts across Cottage Health. In this role, you will work with internal and external teams using innovative methodologies to envision, develop, and incubate opportunities that support or are consistent with Cottage Health strategic plan and core strategic imperatives. The Vice President will serve as the day-to-day lead in Cottage Health's intellectual property and innovation space, manage interactions with internal and external stakeholders, and accelerate innovation capability throughout the enterprise. Major accountabilities include: * Strategic Planning: Development and implementation of a strategy and plan to accelerate innovation capability across the enterprise. Refine and advance commercially viable innovations and accelerate them through a commercialization process. Development of an IP disclosure process to collect innovative ideas from internal sources as they are developed. Implementation of an approach to leverage tools and technology to accelerate organizational capability. * Operational Management: Leading Cottage Health initiative, workshops, guiding key projects through established protocols for refinement, development and deployment. Leading the development of and maintaining Cottage Health's patent portfolio and IP database in collaboration with Cottage Research Institute. * Problem Solving: Translation of innovation and continuous improvement methods into a toolkit that can be readily applied by any business or function to solve problems and realize opportunities. Deploying and continuously improving systems, processes, and tools to systemize and structure innovation across the enterprise. * Education and Training: Coordinating enterprise-wide training to support innovation processes and tools and to accelerate capability among innovation practitioners. Building a culture to leverage an innovation toolkit across the enterprise to accelerate ability, rapidly capture opportunities, and resolve problems. * Financial/Budget: Responsible for budget development and execution, financial forecasting and demonstrating excellent project management skills, with successful delivery of projects on time, in line with budget expectations and strategy. QUALIFICATIONS All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently. LEVEL OF EDUCATION Minimum: Advanced degree (Master's level in business, law, or a related field) is required or significant demonstrated experience required. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum: Experience leading or working in/with technology corporations. YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE Minimum: Three years relevant work experience in some or all of the following: business management, innovation, strategic venture and program development, patent preparation/review, and licensing agreements.
