About the Opportunity Assistant Front Desk Manager | $55-60k David Zwirner seeks an Assistant Front Desk Manager to support the operations of our Front Desk team across New York locations. This role reports to the Gallery Manager, DZNY. This position will be based onsite Tuesday - Saturday, 10am to 6pm. The candidate will occasionally need to work additional hours. The Assistant Front Desk Manager will assist the Gallery Manager with the oversight and management of a team of roughly 10 Gallery Assistants, 2-3 Sales Interns and, when applicable, 1-4 Gallery Attendants throughout all NY locations, specifically ensuring that: * Daily duties of front desks at all 5 locations are executed promptly and properly; * Front desks are adequately staffed at all times; * Sales support is provided to sales staff; * General gallery support is provided to staff upon request; * All Gallery Assistants, Sales Interns, and Gallery Attendants are adequately trained. What you'll do * When needed, be present at the front desk; execute certain front desk tasks as necessary. * Miscellaneous administrative support, including scheduling, expense reports/ receipts, reimbursements, etc. * Support Gallery Assistants and/or step in when visitor-related safety or property issues arise; request assistance from the Gallery Manager, Facilities Team, or others if necessary. * Attend and notetake during weekly Gallery Assistant meetings. * Assist with gallery opening/event oversight alongside Gallery Manager and Gallery Assistants; ensure food, drinks, and supplies are on hand; assist with transportation to any post-opening dinner or event. * In cooperation with the Gallery Manager, recruit, interview, and hire Gallery Assistants, Sales Interns, and Gallery Attendants when needed. * In cooperation with the Gallery Manager, ensure all onboarding and training materials are kept up to date. * Develop and maintain the "Team Hub" on Notion. * Support the gallery Operations team as needed to ensure gallery functionality. * Be the point of contact when the Gallery Manager is out of office. What we would like you to have * BA in Art History or related field required. * 2-3 years work experience in a gallery, institution, auction house, advisory or artist studio. * An interest and/or experience in people management. * An interest in growing into a leadership position. * The ability to oversee multiple ongoing tasks and projects concurrently. * Be comfortable interacting with clients and members of the public. * The ability to effectively and gracefully solve or raise problems as they arise. * Be supportive of a genial work environment. * Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
