These Part-time Library Technician positions are located at the Stratton Library in Marietta, GA and will work 18 hours per week including some nights and weekends and from 1:00-5:00p on scheduled Sundays. Circulation/information services including: checking books in and out; registering patrons for library cards; registering patrons for voter registration cards. Take fines for overdue books. Assist in keeping daily statistics. Develops and maintains a working knowledge about the organization and care of library materials, library services and programs. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED required; supplemented by six or more months work experience involving public interaction/customer service. Experience using personal computers, projectors, electronic devices such as e-readers, standard office equipment and software applications and good computer skills required. Preferred Qualifications Excellent computer skills needed. This position requires great customer service skills and should enjoy working with the public. Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station. Sensory Requirements Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
