DESCRIPTION SCOT Global Sourcing owns the onboarding, ordering and supply chain technology for Amazon's worldwide Direct Import (DI) business. The DI program was established with the goal of generating Free Cash Flow (FCF) savings and increasing access to inventory by taking control upstream in a vendor's supply chain, unlocking access to allocation, and driving increased profitability. Going forward, we will invest in creating products and services to meet the needs of a diverse set of customers to propel the DI program to its full growth potential, approximately 4x the current size of the program. This Principal Product Manager-Technical (PMT) role is of strategic importance, responsible for envisioning the capabilities required to increase our capture of existing selection onboarded to DI and bring new selection to the program. You will need Think Big in order to innovate on behalf of our customers to create the right vendor experience and cost structure to make DI an attractive sourcing option at scale. Key job responsibilities Working backwards from the customer, you must define the strategic vision for the next generation of products and services, You will own the long-term roadmap and work with Product Managers, Business Intelligence Engineers, Development Engineers and Data Scientists to execute on that vision to build products, processes and analytics that bridge the gaps between the actuals and the desired, optimal business outcomes. You will be leading initiatives where the product opportunity and/or technology strategy has yet to be defined. You will need to drive clarity in problem and opportunity definition while being comfortable in dealing with a high degree of ambiguity. This is a highly visible role that requires partnering with SCOT, Global Mile, worldwide Retail and Finance teams to impact Amazon's bottom line at scale. You must possess superb business judgment, strong stakeholder management skills, have project management experience and be comfortable with driving multiple and diverse projects in complex environments. You must have experience and capability to prepare documentation for senior leaders and align your roadmap with Amazon's strategic objectives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a necessity. Successful candidates should excel at diving into data in order to analyze root causes and implement simple, long-term solutions. The ideal candidate is a leader who can prioritize, communicate clearly, and who understands how to nurture the focus, excellence, and alignment across teams to deliver on the team's vision. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree * 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience * Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition * Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product * Experience technical product management * Experience as a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and effectively influence across cross-functional teams * Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product * Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
