This is a NON-CLASSIFIED employment opportunity. Visit the State of Colorado for Classified employment opportunities. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and compliance within the college. Position will also demonstrate neutrality to management and employee perspectives focusing on conflict prevention and resolution. The college offers the possibility for one remote work arrangement upon completion of training and department needs. Minimum Qualifications * Completed Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. * Two years of experience in employee relations, labor relations, civil rights enforcement, or related field, which provide an understanding of employment/discrimination laws and programs. Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge. Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work. Preferred Qualifications * Completed Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Student Services Administration, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or closely related field. * Demonstrated experience developing or implementing policies and procedures in the area of Human Resources or Student Services. * Experience providing Title VII, Title IX, discrimination, or other conflict resolution training. * Experience researching concerns and determining course of action. * Experience with Maxient student conduct software or similar incident tracking system. * Formal training or experience in conducting mediation. Essential Functions Guidance and Facilitation * Provide guidance and facilitation regarding human resources questions and concerns. * Conduct initial intake meetings as assigned by the Vice President for Human Resource Services including reviewing relevant documents and maintaining appropriate records. * Assist the Vice President for Human Resource Services in researching, gathering, interpreting, and analyzing employee relation information to make appropriate decisions and recommendations in next course of action. * Draft reports, communications, and recommend resolutions. * Provide ongoing services on the labor relations program, practices, policies, legislation, rules, and regulatory requirements. * Interpret and identity possible risk, impact to parties and recommended solutions. * Assist with initial inquiries as assigned by the Vice President for Human Resource Services. Training and Education * Participate in the maintenance, implementation, and evaluation of mandatory compliance training. * Distribute and audit ongoing training, reminders, and reports. * Develop and update educational materials and department website content. * Remain current on legal developments related to Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, ADA, Section 504, and other federal and state laws, and investigative techniques. * Recommend and participate in changes to college procedures and trainings. Compliance * Interpret background check, drug tests, and motor vehicle results in accordance with CCCS guidelines. * Conduct interviews to determine employment and student eligibility; make recommendations based upon college procedures and policies. * Remain current on program requirements, changes, and disqualifying criteria. * Maintain appropriate documentation for decisions. Employee Performance * Assist with performance evaluation processes for Faculty, Classified and APT employees. * Maintain the integrity of the evaluation processes. * Assist with performance evaluation training. * Assist with improvement recommendations as assigned by the Vice President for Human Resource Services.
