Overview The Department of Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education (COMDDE) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position, with expertise in educational and/or health disparities and autism. This hire is part of an institutional effort to address educational and health disparities in society. As such, this faculty member will work collaboratively with other newly hired and existing faculty members within the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services and other colleges to address these disparities through collaborative research, teaching, and service. The major emphasis area of the position will be research, and the successful candidate will be expected to establish an independent and extramurally funded program of research that both sustains and elevates the department's regional and national reputation. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in speech language pathology. In addition, the preferred candidate will have a strong background in quantitative methods and statistics, with the ability to teach courses in this area. Responsibilities * Engage in projects that seek to advance outcomes associated with educational and/or health disparities in autism * Lead an extramurally funded research program in autism, which includes publishing research in top-tier scientific outlets * Engage in collaborative scholarship as part of the educational/health disparities initiative * Teach undergraduate and graduate courses as assigned * Chair and serve on graduate student committees * Provide service to the department and institution, as well as provide national, state, and local service to the profession Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Doctorate in speech and language pathology or audiology or related field (e.g., neuroscience, psychology, linguistics).
