Reporting to the National Tunnel Group Lead and Australian Technical Director - Tunnels, we are seeking a Senior Tunnel Design Engineer for tunnelling projects in Australia and international. The responsibilities for this role comprise: * Planning and execution of tunnel, geotechnical and structural designs, including planning studies and detailed design * Providing in-depth knowledge and expertise in geotechnical/structural/tunnelling areas * Ensuring that design solutions meet the appropriate technical standards * Ensuring that appropriate technical standards, QA, EMS and OH&S requirements are maintained on projects * Delivering projects on time and to the standard required by the client * Actively seeking and promoting client feedback on each client's project * Preparing of and assisting with tender proposals * Mentoring of junior engineers in detailed design and other tasks The ideal candidate has: * A Bachelors (or higher) Degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus on tunnels and/or underground structures * A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in tunnel/underground structures design * A strong aptitude for structural and/or geotechnical calculation and a keen interest in modelling * Proficiency in geotechnical/structural FEM software packages such as Plaxis (3D), RS2/RS3, FLAC (3D), Strand7 or Midas * A positive attitude and is keen to learn, grow and teach We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
