General Description The Senior Therapist is a valuable member of our Child and Adolescent Behavioral Services team who is responsible for providing screening, assessment, and support services/mobile crisis response to clients who are experiencing a mental health crisis or who are at risk of psychiatric hospitalization. Works as part of a comprehensive treatment team. Competently works with clients with coexisting disorders including substance abuse. Meets minimum productivity expectations and documentation standards using electronic medical records. Provides individual, family, and group therapy; mental health evaluation; treatment planning; case management and case consultation services to youth clients and their families. Assists clients in developing and accomplishing treatment goals in individual, family, and group settings. Provides services in office and community settings. To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who: * As part of the Lake County (SASS) Screening, Assessment and Support Services Program, provides after-hours on-call services to respond to youth at the site of crisis to complete a crisis evaluation and arrange crisis stabilization and follow-up services. * Provide community education services as assigned and as self-initiated. * Provide education and direction to clients, family members and/or significant others. Schedule: 37.5 hours a week * Monday-Friday (3pm-11pm) * Position is remote with responsibility to respond to crisis calls in person at the location of the call. All other work can be completed remotely. * $5.00 shift differential for working hours deemed eligible for shift and weekend premium Essential Functions * Provides direct services to clients including individual and group treatment. * Team member on a 24 hours 365 days a year on-call calendar. * Certification in the IM-CAT and IM+CANS required. * Consult with the supervisor regarding the transfer/placement of a client to another level of service, as needed. * Facilitates with clients and collaborates with the treatment team to develop, review, and update treatment goals and referrals both internally and externally. * Assists clients in obtaining public entitlements, housing, community resources, etc. * Attends staffings with schools, juvenile justice, community agencies, and others, as necessary. * Organizes and participates in treatment-related clinical conferences and staffings on assigned clients. * Conducts crisis intervention/evaluation/referral to persons who present themselves at the program. * Performs initial evaluations and assessments of potential clients regarding their appropriateness for participation in the program. * Takes responsibility for training in and documenting clinical chart requirements to meet program and state standards. * Assists in facilitating transportation of clients. * Conduct home visits and outreach to encourage the client's continued participation in treatment. Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required * Master's degree in a related field, and * Licensed by the State of Illinois as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and Five (5) years of clinical experience,or * Licensed by the State of Illinois as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker(LCSW). * Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
