About The Nunn School The Nunn School is multidisciplinary and focuses on understanding the global context of advances in science and technology. The Nunn School is a member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs. Nunn School faculty may hold joint appointments with other units across the Institute including, but not limited to, the School of Public Policy, the College of Computing, and the Scheller College of Business. Location Atlanta, GA Job Summary The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs (www.inta.gatech.edu) at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in International Affairs and Data Science to begin Fall 2025. Scholars with a research specialization in International Security, International Political Economy, or Global Development are encouraged to apply. The position is open to applicants employing any methodology in their research and teaching, but applicants with specializations in computational approaches at the intersection of Science & Technology and International Affairs such as GIS, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, Bayesian statistics, network analysis, or other computational tools are especially encouraged to apply. A geographic area of specialization is welcomed but not necessary. Candidates with a proven record in teaching data analytics to non-specialists and conducting rigorous policy relevant research are encouraged to apply. Required Qualifications An earned doctorate is required by the start of the appointment. Preferred Qualifications * The ability to design and teach curricula that are responsive to a distinct student body. * The ability to mentor and assist students interested in pursuing graduate education. * The ability to engage students in experiential learning activities and pedagogy that support student success. * The ability to adopt teaching strategies that support the learning and success of all students. * Has expertise in teaching, scholarship, and/or service.
