Job Title: Construction Engineer Job Description We are seeking a Construction Engineer who will report to the Lead Construction Manager. The role involves coordination between Inspector Resident Project Representatives (RPRs), Project Engineers, and Project Managers. Responsibilities include training and overseeing inspection staff to ensure project timelines, cost management, documentation, communication, risk management, and quality assurance are upheld. The successful candidate will also act as a RPR, stepping in on projects as needed. Duties encompass providing guidance to construction inspectors, filling in for RPRs, facilitating construction meetings, coordinating inspection activities with contractors, assisting with project management, and ensuring all materials meet specified standards. This position requires travel across Indiana and Kentucky, including potential overnight stays. Candidates should have reliable transportation, and mileage will be reimbursed. Hard Skills * Bachelor's or Technology Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field * Experience with water line, sewer line, storm sewer line projects * Ability to read/interpret construction plan sets, project drawings, and specifications * Proficiency in MS Word / Excel * Understanding of project cost analysis, bidding, estimating, and risk assessment Soft Skills * Strong communication skills * Leadership and training capabilities * Problem-solving skills * Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Job Type This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 Month(s). Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Indianapolis, Indiana. Work Environment The role involves both office and field work in a Construction Department with 28 employees. Candidates from Central Indiana preferred, but those outside the area who meet qualifications may also be considered.
