Job Type: Regular Time Type: Full time Work Shift: Day (United States of America) FLSA Status: Exempt When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you're making a difference in people's lives. Reporting to the CMO of BILHPN and in partnership with other Clinical Excellence leaders, the ACMO will assist with leading BILHPN's efforts to achieve exceptional performance in value based contracts. This includes meeting or exceeding targets on quality measures, efficiency goals, care retention metrics, clinical documentation initiatives and other payer specific program requirements. The ACMO will partner with physician organizations, hospitals, local units, primary care and specialty leadership in his or her region to ensure BILHPN success in these areas. The ACMO will collaborate with other BILHPN Divisions including the contracting team to ensure value based measures are clinically appropriate and Data Integration/Analytics to effectively utilize BILHPN's data warehouse. The ACMO will work closely with BILHPN care management, pharmacy, quality and post-acute teams to optimize performance in his or her region. The ACMO will maintain strong relationships with payer partners to ensure flow of communication on contract performance and may attend payer collaboration meetings. The ACMO may work with external vendors as needed to support the aforementioned efforts. The ACMO will work with the Clinical Excellence Leadership team to set strategic goals and priorities for the BILHPN Clinical Excellence Division. The ACMO will work closely with PCP and specialty practice leadership as well as front line care teams to assist with achieving population health goals. The ACMO may also "specialize" in one or more particular areas (examples include government programs, commercial quality, CDI) in support of those specific priorities. Job Description: Responsibilities Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to: * As a key member of the Clinical Excellence Leadership team of BILHPN, partner with the CMO to oversee and direct the Clinical Excellence Team in the areas of Quality and Network Performance Improvement, Pharmacy, Care Management, Informatics, and Post-Acute; * Oversee performance and collaborate on performance improvement efforts with regional Performance Manager. Promote and share best practice and processes that contribute to success; work to remove barriers that impede achieving targeted results; * Partner with key BILH leaders, BILH Primary Care, regional leaders and hospital entities to assure success in risk-based contracts; * Educate and share data with front line PCP and specialty care teams. Engage/collaborate to improve performance * Support and facilitate patient care coordination/care retention; · Contribute expertise in the development of BILHPN Clinical Excellence Team strategic plan including selection of strategic objectives. · Prepare for and lead discussion of relevant agenda topics for the BILHPN Medical Management and Policy Committee (MMPC) and the BILHPN Population Health Advisory Committee (PHAC). · Maintain content expertise in areas of specialization and provide clinical support to relevant BILHPN teams. · Participate in payer contract design and/or payer negotiations as a member of clinical leadership at BILHPN. · Collaborate with and provide clinical expertise for other teams within BILHPN including, but not limited to, contracting, analytics, data/IT, and finance. · Create, support or lead network-wide EHR/clinical informatics enhancements to facilitate success in payer programs. · Propose, draft, implement and monitor network-wide clinical guidelines in high priority areas aligned with strategic objectives. · Lead additional payer programs as needed including pay-for-collaboration and/or health equity programs. · In partnership with CMO, oversee the budget process for the Clinical Excellence Team. Collaborate with BILHPN leadership and Finance teams for budget planning; · Explore, assess, and implement new technologies and vendors as appropriate to support achieving BILHPN goals. · Actively participate in BILHPN recruitment and retention efforts; · Represent BILHPN to external organizations and agencies on relevant matters as necessary; · Participate as needed at meetings across BILH and BILHPN involving Population Health. Organizational Requirements: Maintain strict adherence to all BILH and BILHPN Policies. Maintain courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and providers and stake holders. Demonstrate an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment. Demonstrate a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and consistently adheres to customer service standards. Participate in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities. Participate in and successfully completes Mandatory Education. Perform all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department. Minimum Qualifications: Education: · M.D. or D.O. Licensure, Certification & Registration: · Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Massachusetts preferred; Experience: · 3-5 years of significant leadership responsibility, including medical leadership of Performance Network/ACO, experience in contract negotiations, quality measurement, efficiency, and analytics as well as grasp of clinical ambulatory operations. · Prior experience leading large organization and/or network preferred; · Advanced leadership training and/or MBA an asset; · Nuanced content knowledge regarding Population Health including risk contracts with public and private payers, leadership, clinical innovation and transformation, and primary care. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: · Strong leadership and management skills. · Collaborative and team player. · Knowledge and understanding of value based care, risk contracts. · Understanding of process improvement tools and techniques. · Facility with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point. · Experience with Epic, Epic Healthy Planet and Arcadia preferred.
