What we want The Program Manager plans, organizes, directs, and manages day-to-day activities for medical student research programs and initiatives. This role builds and maintains a database of available faculty research mentors and research projects across campuses, sites, and institutions. You will keep track of all student active projects across all campuses, sites and other institutions. You will market, recruit, and organize several research symposia each year across all campuses and sites. This role collaborates, builds relationships, and liaises with faculty, staff, and students across campuses and sites to meet goals and priorities. You will develops and implements procedures for the administration of the various programs. Additionally, you will directly and indirectly supervises staff who assist with planning and executing medical student research activities. What you need to know Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire's experience. Other Requirements and Factors: Multi campus/site travel may be required as needed. Required Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience * Five years of related experience in program management, coordination or related areas Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications * Effective verbal and written communication skills * Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving, and organizational skills * Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment * Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree preferred * Preferred experience in medical education, higher education, courses/rotations and supervision/leadership * Knowledge and skills in accreditation (ex: SACSCOC, LCME) * Preferred experience in managing research programs, projects, or grants (to include budgets, timelines, and deliverables) * Preferred experience collecting, maintaining, and analyzing data Responsibilities: Program Operations * Prepares and provides oversight of medical student research budget * Prepares vouchers, purchase orders and requisition and coordinate with accounting personnel and * other support staff * Establishes and implements effective timelines to meet all LCME accreditation requirements/standards * Supervises staff and student assistants in medical student research * Assists with creating deliverables to include items such as quarterly and/or annual reports, student * feedback and satisfaction surveys, feedback on student symposium(s) and other requested data/reports as needed * Participates in elective fairs across campuses/sites as needed. * Assists in developing strategic plans and goals to support the program. * Maintains and develops communications between partners by attending meetings and conference calls. * Facilitates and manages research symposium(s) by preparing marketing and communications Collaborating and Liaising Across Campuses & Sites * Conducts ongoing orientation and recruitment of students to available resources and initiatives * Works with campus deans, site deans and faculty across campuses to create research opportunities and recruit faculty to serve as mentors to students and projects. * Works with faculty, leadership, and various committees/sub-committees on research within the * curriculum * Manages research distinction program Faculty Mentor and Research Project Database * Conducts ongoing recruitment of faculty and research project opportunities * Maintains database of faculty and research projects * Maintains and analyzes data and reports Student Research Database * Gathers and maintains active and current database of student research projects and scholarly outputs * Maintains and analyzes data and reports Central Academic Affairs Work/Other Duties * Plans, organizes, directs, and manages day-to-day activities as assigned by Academic Affairs. * Performs other duties as assigned.
