Reporting to the Sustainability Research Manager, the role is responsible for providing leadership in biodegradation, growing Kimberly-Clark's flushability expertise in the Flushable & Biodegradable Innovation Lab (FBIL), as well as support internal K-C and external facing activities supporting the FBIL center of excellence and Kimberly-Clark's business units. In this role, you will: * Provide biodegradability technical leadership and carry out Flushable & Biodegradable Innovation Lab (FBIL) laboratory work for respirometry biodegradation and disintegration testing. * Provide technical support and collaboration with regional and Business Unit partners on degradation performance, methods/standard, testing plans, and claims support. * Provides claim guidance to legal, Marketing, R&E based upon technical knowledge of test results, laboratory practices, standards, stakeholder interactions, and consumer behavior. * Engage and influence internal and external stakeholders with significant interactions, including international testing organizations, lab audits, customer, and leadership tours of KCPX FBIL laboratory. * Develop proficient knowledge around flushability testing standards, global legislation and regulations, including KC's history and impact as the category leaders in flushability. * Ensure all work complies with corporate safety, regulatory, product safety, and sustainability requirements. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications: * Bachelor's or advanced degree in related scientific or engineering discipline. * 3 years or more of industry experience in research or engineering, product/material development, project management roles or other related experience. * Demonstrated basic skills in laboratory settings including data generation, scientific method, data analysis, basic scientific principles. * A demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and across functional boundaries to complete projects within required timeframes. * Exceptional skills effectively communicating/translating complex technical concepts to others. * Travel up to 15% as needed. Preferred: * Background or experience in Environmental Science * Experience analyzing material properties and impact on product performance. * International experience in a global organization.
