Jacobs is currently seeking a Process/ Mechanical engineering intern from and ABET accredited university to work with our team in Oak Ridge, TN. Jacobs Nuclear Projects and Consulting is a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy and Atomic Energy of Canada Limited, the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and nuclear power/processing/laboratory programs and facilities. We deliver end-to-end innovative solutions nuclear cleanup and production sites. Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, and engineering and construction. Here's what you'll need: Must have and understanding of Chemical and/or Mechanical Engineering. Must have a High School Diploma and be enrolled in an ABET accredited University for Engineering. Proficiency using CAD Drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Microstation or related software. Must have experience with 3D Modeling software such as Solidworks or Creo. US citizenship required. The ideal candidate for this position will reside a commutable distance from our Oak Ridge office Essential Requirements: Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary. Some walking and standing may occur in the course of a normal workday in connection with travel to and from meeting and conferences. May carry light items, such as reports, data products, notebooks and laptops. Work Environment: - Cubical environment - May be in a restricted work area. Criticality of Attendance: - Must be able to work within the normal daytime shift - With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential. Equipment and Machines: - Standard office equipment and machines: personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies. Other Essential Functions: - Must be solely a USA citizen able to secure and maintain a security clearance. - Must pass drug testing. - Must be able to read and write effectively in English. - Must embrace Beyond Zero/Safety principles of Jacobs to include; adhering to safe work practices and standards while performing daily tasks, taking responsibility for own and coworkers' safekeeping and encouraging others to work safely. - Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management. - Must perform work activities requiring interaction, negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others. - Must be able to work under supervision and respond appropriately and professionally to criticism from a supervisor. - Travel requirements - may require occasional travel.
