Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated college student intern to support youth engagement in statewide advocacy initiatives. Additionally, the intern should be dedicated to tobacco prevention and demonstrate an interest in empowering high school leaders from across the state of Kentucky. As an intern, you will play a crucial role in educating our group about tobacco prevention and policy while providing general support and assisting with various projects. While prior knowledge of tobacco policy is beneficial, we will provide comprehensive training. Objectives for the Position: * Education and Awareness: Collaborate with our team to develop and deliver educational materials and presentations on tobacco policy (e.g., tobacco retail licensing, funding allocation), aiming to raise awareness among high school students about the importance of this topic. * Research and Analysis: Conduct research on current policies and regulations related to tobacco policy, and assist in analyzing their impact on youth access to tobacco products. * Outreach and Support: Work closely with the our team as well as high school student leaders to provide general support, guidance, and resources to help effectively engage youth on tobacco policy initiatives. * Youth-Led Campaign Assistance: Strong commitment to supporting our tobacco policy campaign, including assisting in the development and execution of advocacy strategies, engaging with community stakeholders, and promoting compliance with tobacco control regulations. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities * Strong communication, interpersonal, and writing skills. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience * Pre-employment criminal background check, employment background check, as required by school districts. * Evidence-based curriculum training must be obtained within 1 month of employment, and prior to in-school or related program delivery.
