GENERAL SUMMARY Seeking a skilled production planner who combines strong inventory management skills with an analytical mind and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders. As a Materials Planner I, you will: * Plan, schedule, and control inventories and availability of production materials and components necessary to support the timely manufacture, assembly, and shipment of product required to satisfy customer requirements and desired inventory levels for the assigned product lines * Purchase intercompany components required to support customer requirements and desired inventory levels, review and disposition any quality issues * Leverage your strong demand planning skills, experience, and problem-solving skills to identify and implement improvements that impact safety, quality, and production * Gain cross functional experience and visibility working with Procurement/Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, Customer Service and other teams * Find ample opportunities for growth and advancement. * Support industry-leading brands at a respected global industry leader. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) * Controls the movement of materials and work orders through the factory, maintain accurate on hand inventory and location information; works with receiving and production to control and direct the flow of materials in and out of storage locations; maintains record accuracy through the performance and administration of cycle counting routines and location verification as needed. * Achieve desired performance metrics tied to inventory value, on time delivery, planning priorities and schedule attainment, cost controls, housekeeping and safety measures and quality conformance. * Perform quarterly reviews of safety stock, minimum lot size and assigned planning strategies for individual SKU's relevant to assigned product lines. * Manage open work orders, assist in reviewing and resolving material and labor variances * Plans and schedules incoming intercompany materials as required supporting assigned product lines, disposition any invoicing issues in a timely manner. * Resolves non-conforming conditions relating to material supply or quality and schedule deviations with internal and external suppliers. * Participate in daily, weekly and monthly production and lead time meetings as appropriate for assigned product lines SKILLS * Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency and well organized. * Experience using MS Office or equivalent; SAP preferred but not required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Associates degree in business or related field, plus one to three years' experience in a manufacturing setting. Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted. Bachelor's degree preferred.
