Position Summary This position is responsible for the supervision, planning, coordinating and evaluation of the Business Office, Stores, and Canteen staff as well as for the supervision and accounting of multiple financial programs, funding sources and cost allocation patterns located at the Green Bay Correctional Institution (GBCI), involving over $40 million in operating funds. Responsibilities and activities include assistance with budget development and implementation, monitoring of all institution funds, maintenance of the institution's accounting system, delegated procurement functions, PIOC accounts, institution's capital and store's inventories, and oversight of the financial operation of the institution canteen. This position must adhere to the provision of all Wisconsin Statutes dealing with the fiscal operations of the institution (including, but not limited to, Chapter 301 and 304 Corrections; Chapter 16 DOA Fiscal; Chapter 19 General Duties of Public Officials; and Chapter 20 Budget) and is expected to have a full understanding of/apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Auditing Standards (GAAS). Salary Information This position is in pay schedule and range 81-03 with a starting annual salary of $62,400 - $90,396. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required. Job Details Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have experience: * Performing accounting and auditing duties to ensure accuracy (e.g. examining records, reports, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.) using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Auditing Standards (GAAS). * Performing purchasing activities (e.g. requisitions/orders, bids, compliance, budget monitoring, etc.) * Managing, leading, and/or overseeing the work of others (e.g. training, advising, reviewing work, etc. In addition to the above, well qualified applicant will have experience: * Formally supervising the work of other staff (e.g. hiring, performance evaluations, discipline, dismissal, settling grievances, etc.) * Performing budget management (e.g. analysis of expenditures, forecast analysis, etc.) * Performing inventory control activities (e.g. maintaining records, performing audits, reconciling discrepancies, etc.) How To Apply To apply, click on "Apply for Job" to start the application process.
