What You Will Do * Product Design and Development: * Lead the development of new fiber optic connectivity products from concept to commercialization. * Utilize CAD software and simulation tools to create detailed design models and prototypes. * Working with vendors to understand their capability, tooling, processes, FAI, clarifying drawing notes, etc * Collaborate with engineering teams to design prototypes and validate performance through rigorous testing. * Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure products meet customer requirements and industry standards. * Project Management: * Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of product milestones. * Coordinate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and marketing. * Technical Expertise: * Stay updated with the latest advancements in fiber optic technology and integrate them into product development. * Provide technical support and guidance during the product lifecycle. * Quality Assurance: * Develop and implement testing protocols to ensure product reliability and performance. * Work closely with the quality assurance team to resolve any product issues and implement corrective actions. * Customer and Market Focus: * Engage with customers to understand their needs and translate them into product specifications. * Analyze market trends and competitor products to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. * Documentation and Compliance: * Prepare comprehensive technical documentation including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals. * Ensure all products comply with relevant industry standards and regulations. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. * Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in fiber optic or electrical product development or a similar role. * Strong understanding of fiber optic communication systems, connectors, and assemblies. * Proficiency in Parametric CAD software, preferably NX, and other engineering tools for design and simulation. * GD&T comprehension and skills in drawing creation and in measuring & gaging geometric tolerances What Will Put You Ahead * Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field. * Experience in the telecommunications or data center industries. * Familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality control in the fiber optics industry and connector industry. * Proven track record of successfully bringing new products to market. * Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the telecommunications industry.
