Job Posting Title: Counselor Intern Fall 2024 Semester Job Description: This position allows counseling interns an opportunity to work in a school site counseling program with training that will include individual student planning, responsive services, and systems support. The intern will work as a team member with school staff, parents, and the community to create a caring, supportive climate in an atmosphere whereby students can achieve academic success. The intern will gain an understanding of unique and diverse challenges, both personally and developmentally that impact academic and social emotional achievement of students. The intern will develop and promote good community relations among various community and school clientele. Customize counseling services to meet individual student and school needs. Align the counseling program to school goals (School Improvement Plan). Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills. Maintain community partnerships to support students and their families. Demonstrate age-appropriate counseling practices that meet academic and personal/social needs. Deliver counseling services through classroom guidance lessons, small groups and individual counseling.
