Job Description The Facilities Capacity Planning Engineer is responsible for developing and driving an efficient strategic plan for Facilities Systems capacities. The role requires strong analytical and collaboration skills to derive plans for future support needs with Manufacturing and other support departments. Responsibility Project Management/Planning: * Leads projects to ensure deliverables are completed within the required scope, schedule and budget * Supervises actions and provides customer concern path or resources to ensure actions will be completed on time * Defines and leads complex, multi-disciplinary projects of critical importance to Micron * Collaborates with partners on the design and coordination of projects * Prepares project scope and ensures vital guidance from appropriate collaborators * Ensures that scope meets requestor needs and collaborates with consultant resources to identify areas of improvement * Provides support for cost and schedule estimates and justification for approval * Works with appropriate personnel to address problems or make corrections * Supports equipment startup and commissioning * Helps to shape strategic decisions and provides technical support * Supervises engineering capacity and load data to ensure all items are accounted for and planned Technical/Data Analysis: * Analyzes systems data to make critical decisions, improve performance, gain efficiency, and drive cost savings * Assists in providing metrics for cost, capacity, performance reports, and trending and forecasting with comparisons to recognized industry standards * Builds and maintains models of planned or forecasted increases in system capacities, end of life replacements and space increases or modifications * Provides effective and timely guidance to resolve issues and is highly engaged in key problem resolution * Provides consultation and technical support to Operations, Maintenance, Manufacturing and other department/sites * Provides engineering support for mid to long term infrastructure planning for Facilities * Works with Manufacturing on excursion root cause identification, elimination, and prevention * Maintains applicable subject area knowledge, such as space management theory, forecasting system capacities, etc. * Uses administrative and engineering databases in support of job tracking, engineering data, capital equipment facilitation, and critical system loads and capacities * Ensures safety is considered in all aspects of design, enhancement, modification and process Qualifications: * Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skills * Proven ability to communicate complex analysis and technical information in a succinct and actionable manner * Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to coordinate efforts across a variety of groups * Demonstrated ability to be meticulous, follow complex procedures, and work with minimal direction * Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills with ability to solve sophisticated problems and address root causes * Strong skills in Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Power Point * Strong understanding of data extraction, data analysis and visualization methodologies * Experience or knowledge of data collection, warehousing systems, and data cleansing The Facilities Capacity Planning Engineer at Micron is responsible for working in a team environment with other engineering fields to plan facilities capacities, future capital and space management in support of manufacturing and support areas. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to Safety & Quality: * Finishes all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policies * Stops work for safety if unsafe conditions and/or behaviors are identified * Uses and reviews job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) for work being performed * Follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws including PPE, CoHe (lockout /tagout) and chemical safety * Follows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with stakeholders * Actively participates in the EHS program by reporting all EHS-related concerns or problems immediately (maximum 24 hrs) * Proactively sees opportunities to reduce potential hazards which may impact personnel health and/or the environment * Drives quality improvement initiatives in their area to reduce Fab impacts, improve efficiency and identify cost savings Communication & Collaboration: * Ensures appropriate communication with facilities and manufacturing collaborators * Partners with key stakeholders to develop solutions to continuously improve critical metrics * Partners with team members to increase efficiency of utility systems and improve system stability * Partners with team members, EHS and Engineering and Operations to understand impact of changes * Collaborates with areas leaders to create personal performance and development goals * Communicates effectively with manufacturing and other collaborators for preparations of future technology * Communicates proactively with leaders and team members on the daily priorities and issues * Attends and participates in meetings and provides relevant technical recommendations * Communicates changes made to equipment and follows business rules for change control * Partners in data collection, gap analysis, and improvement implementation * Proactively communicates issues that could cause Fab impact, defects, tool restrictions, or lost moves * Coordinates with stakeholders and leaders on issues and changes, and provides regular status updates * Broadens cross-disciplinary knowledge through new assignments * Listens to customer feedback, recognizes opportunities and provides feedback for technical innovation Education and Experience: * Required: BS in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations, or relevant experience * Preferred: Tableau, PowerBI or other relevant data science skills * Preferred: Prior engineering internship As a world leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth.
