Job Title: Vice President of Engineering Reports To: President FLSA Status: Exempt Department: Engineering Summary: Plan, direct and manage product development efforts for Digital Ally. Set priorities and product roadmap. Design and architect new products. Manage, support, and provide direction and leadership to Engineering staff. Source and select outside contractors. Manage DA's patent portfolios. Accountability, Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Develop strategic product plans and set product roadmap for the company * Manage and protect Digital Ally's intellectual property * Apply for new patents and manage the existing patents for DA. * Provides direction and leadership to engineering staff * Design and architect new products * Researches and evaluates new technologies and tools * Provide strategic engineering input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization * Develop strategic supplier relationships * Other duties as assigned Qualification / Skills: * Strong leadership and a proven track record for timely project delivery, project management, cost control and customer satisfaction * Strategic thinking * Intellectual property management * Strong practical engineering knowledge relevant to the embedded system design and the video technology * Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interface closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Production, and Purchasing * Excellent people skills and team oriented * Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle * Must have a valid driver's license * Ability to be covered under company vehicle insurance Education / Experience: * Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Master of Science degree preferred * Minimum fifteen (15) years product development experience working with software, firmware, and hardware development teams * Minimum ten (10) years in technical leadership Physical Requirements: * Occasional travel to suppliers, customers, and shows.
