What you'll do... Position: Software Engineer III Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086 Duties: Build and maintain a robust and flawless software system and pipeline for reliable services for Converse and Wal-Mart's conversational AI platform. Work with systems design and algorithms to build core components of the platform and support multiple use cases. Work with data scientists to improve the accuracy of natural language understanding using machine learning models and building rule engines. Responsible for production system operations such as logging, telemetry, and alerting. Complete projects and features from start to end and ensure software quality through extensive unit tests. Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or a related area. Skills required: Experience designing and implementing REST API web services using Node.js and Express.js. Experience coding in Java. Experience with Distributed Message Queue System. Experience performing unit testing, integration testing, and test case creation and debugging. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Experience designing and implementing a Distributed System. Experience with at least one of the following NoSQL databases: MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, or Google Firebase. Experience with Client Server Architecture. Experience with multithreading, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. Experience with any one of the following relational databases: MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL. Experience with basic web development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience using version control system Git and understanding branching strategies and collaborative development workflows. Experience with secure coding practices, authentication and authorization mechanisms, common security vulnerabilities. Experience with Agile development methodologies. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or professional experience with the required skills. Salary Range: $117,000/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.  Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
