Responsibilities About Centennial Hills Hospital: Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center is a 336-bed facility that is part of the six-hospital The Valley Health System in the Las Vegas area. We provide a wide range of medical services and procedures, including comprehensive women's services for the Northwest Las Vegas area. In addition to providing digital mammography, gynecologic care and gynecologic surgery, the Women's Center pays special attention to new moms. During their stay, moms enjoy special menus, massages and afternoon teas. The Women's Center maternity services include labor, delivery and recovery rooms, antepartum and postpartum care, a newborn nursery and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. The Medical Staff Coordinator prepares reports, correspondence to practitioners, documents as appropriate and distributes accordingly exercising skill, judgment and attention to detail. Candidate will serve as a backup for the Medical Staff Director as necessary. Qualifications EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three to five years medical staff services experience in an ambulatory care or managed care setting required. Technical Skills: Computer proficiency to include word processing, spreadsheet and database. Ability to take and transcribe minutes. Ability to think critically, analyze complex documentation and recognize items requiring further investigation. Other: Knowledge of medical staff functions and processes, bylaws, rules/regulations, policies and procedures, accreditation standards of the Joint Commission for Healthcare Accreditation Organization (JCAHO), and federal/state law. Candidate must have a working knowledge of basic accounting and researching medical staff resources and be able to deal appropriately with highly sensitive and confidential material. License/Certification: Certification as a professional in medical staff services and/or quality management preferred. CPCS certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire, or within 18 months of initial admissibility.
