With 5 strategic distribution centers, and 500 employee associates across North America, Atlantic Fasteners a division of Applied Maintenance Supplies and Solutions stocks 50,000 part numbers to supply our customers with all of their fastener, chemical, welding, and other industrial MRO and OEM parts needs. We are seeking a motivated Quality Control Specialist to perform the duties necessary to monitor and control the movement of inventory within our Agawam, MA facility. We are hiring! At Applied, the Quality Control Specialist has immediate impact on our Distribution Center's performance and in customer satisfaction. You'll join a tight-knit team serving multiple distribution centers, internal associates, and loyal, long-term customers. Productivity and accuracy are key measures for success. Responsibilities: As an Applied Quality Control Specialist, you will perform a variety of duties required within the quality lab, warehouse, and office. Your duties will include: * Performs accurate mechanical and physical inspections of in-coming material, in-process parts and finished goods. * Reads and interprets blueprints and customer specifications. * Uses testing equipment including calipers, micrometers, Rockwell Testers, and indicators for inspection. * Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; approves finished products. * Reports and tracks any deviations from quality standards and recommends corrective action to appropriate manager. * Documents inspection logs, reports and customer records with inspection findings and results. * Communicates with production personnel regarding quality issues. * Be a subject matter expert (SME) within our AS9120 and ISO9001 audits. * Responsible for direct inventory cycle counts for different frequency of fast and slow moving parts. * Work from daily schedule, work orders, verbal and written instructions * Attention to detail: accurate data entry skills, basic math & reading skills * Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend and regular lifting of 50 lbs. or more * Ability to pass a background check and drug test * High school diploma or GED Desired: * 6+ months inventory control experience * Demonstrated teamwork, productivity, accuracy, and professionalism * Ability and desire to quickly learn new processes and systems Work for a corporation that believes in developing its people.
