ROLE: FOX 5 San Diego/KUSI News duopoly is seeking an experienced Anchor/Reporter to support our growing team. Successful candidate excels in ad-libbing, storytelling on all platforms, connecting with viewers, can receive feedback and models professionalism on and off the air. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Accurate reporting of news stories * Attend editorial meetings and regularly pitch original story ideas * Develops community contacts and a network of news sources * Must be able to ad-lib live breaking news by telling a compelling story * Works with photographer, producers, desk in the development of a story * Regularly updates newsroom on story elements and progress * Uses social media to update news stories to the public * Attend station partnerships in the community * Anchor weekend newscasts and specials produced by the station * Regularly write and proofread stories on assigned broadcasts EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * B.A. or B.S. Degree preferably in journalism or communication * Previous TV anchoring and reporting experience strongly preferred REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: * Must interact positively and productively with employees in the field and in studio * Uphold station values and models professionalism on and off the air * Strong on-air presentation - must be credible, personable and engaging * Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills * Strong attention to detail * Must be able to accept constructive direction and feedback * In line with reporting duties, individual must be flexible with schedule and be willing to work additional hours or days or different shifts and holidays as required by news content * Positive, solution-oriented attitude and team player * Can perform duties and make decisions under extreme pressure * Starting $45.70/hr commensurate with experience and skill level. * #LI-Onsite
