Overview Centre College invites qualified applicants for the full-time position of Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach. Reporting to theHead Men's Lacrosse Coach, this position leads all aspects in building a nationally competitive Division III athletics program, This position requires compliance with all NCAA, SAA, and Centre College rules and regulations and to be mindful of the College's core values of diversity and inclusion. With groundbreaking in July 2021, Centre Athletics is constructing the $65 million Initiative for Wellness and Athletics Excellence (IWAE) project. The transformational facility will feature a new indoor fieldhouse, with a 200-meter track plus indoor turf, a 50-meter natatorium, a new baseball facility, plus a new stadium for football, lacrosse, and track and field. Included in this strategic initiative is over 6,000 square feet of additional strength and conditioning space. Job Skills / Requirements Under supervision of the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach, provide assistance in coaching recruiting, and administrative duties for a highly competitive Division III men's lacrosse program. Individual reports to the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach as well as to the Deputy AD (or designee) with a secondary duty to be assigned. CPR, AED, and First-Aid certifications will be required once hired. Essential Job Functions: * Assist in organizing, preparing and conducting practices, training, and competition; * Recruit student-athletes in accordance with all Centre College, Southern Athletic Association, and NCAA rules and regulations; * Assist in directing all aspects of the team; * Assist with the holistic development of men's lacrosse student-athletes; * Represent the program and the College to students, parents, alumni, and the general public; * Assist in managing the daily operations and administration facets of the men's lacrosse program - including but not limited too - field maintenance and set-up; * Actively participate in department-wide fundraising initiatives; * Assist in all duties as assigned by the Head Coach or the Director of Athletics; * Secondary duty to be assigned at a later date; * Contribute to the overall success of the department by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. * Demonstrates an appreciation of and commitment to further an inclusive culture for those of diverse backgrounds such as ability, age, class, ethnicity, faith background, gender expression, gender identity, geographic region, national origin, neurodiversity, race, and sexual orientation that comprise individual and group expressions of identity. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree with previous collegiate experience as a player or a coach; previous collegiate coaching experience preferred. Valid driver's license required. Knowledge and Skills Demonstrated knowledge of the sport of lacrosse and its playing rules; ability to foster a team environment; demonstrated coaching skills in sport of lacrosse; knowledge of travel, lodging, planning, and scheduling; a commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy of athletics, sufficient knowledge of NCAA and SAA rules and regulations, and a demonstrated ability to successfully recruit, retain, and mentor student-athletes; the ability, and desire, to work successfully within a team-oriented athletic department. Physical Requirements: Moderate physical activity. Requires handling up to 25 pounds. Standing and or walking for more than four hours per day.
