Job Description: The State University of New York at Fredonia is seeking a part-time staff collaborative pianist to provide full-time (average 20 hours/week) accompanying services based on School of Music needs (e.g., applied lessons, choral ensembles, student juries, student recitals). Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with hundreds of concerts, student recitals, faculty recitals, and guest artist programs every year. This is a part-time, temporary, 10-month position that requires evening and weekend work, and includes generous benefit and retirement plans along with competitive salary compensation. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collegial team of faculty and staff who are committed to expanding the boundaries of music in higher education, by not only innovating within existing contexts but also envisioning and enacting new practices informed by critical dialogue and thoughtful engagement with stakeholders within and beyond the school. Our new colleague will help us navigate the shifting landscape of higher education through their contributions to generating change, taking risks, inventing new opportunities, and exploring new ideas and approaches. This is a part-time, temporary, 10-month position, beginning on or before September 1, 2024. Some evening and weekend work will be required. Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Dean of the School of Music, the successful candidate will: * Provide part-time (average 20 hours/week) collaborative piano services based on School of Music needs (e.g., applied lessons, choral ensembles, student juries, student recitals) * Work reliably, efficiently, flexibly, and independently on tasks as assigned * Communicate effectively with faculty, students, and staff, both verbally and in writing * Understand and follow all university policies Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in music by August 2024 * Demonstrated experience in collaborative piano in diverse settings * Demonstrated excellence in collaborative performance Preferred Qualifications: * Graduate degree(s) in collaborative piano or solo piano performance * Minimum five years of experience as a collaborative pianist * Experience working in community, University, and/or professional music performance environments Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Enthusiasm for developing and maintaining collegial, effective relationships with students, faculty, and staff within and beyond the School of Music * Ability to bring unique perspectives and values to the School of Music, University, and community Additional Information: Additional Information: This is a part-time, UUP represented, temporary, 10-month staff position beginning on or before January 15, 2025 or sooner, with a salary of $18,500 - $20,000, commensurate with experience.
