ANNOUNCEMENT Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the part-time, grant-funded faculty position of Wellness Advocate POSITION DESCRIPTION In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this part-time faculty position involves the management of a multi-campus social services program to include delivering mental health services to students, education, and evaluation of programming. This position requires dealing with confidential information and providing direct one-on-one appointments with students, assessment of needs, community agency networking and referrals, maintenance of case records, group work, coordination and writing of reports. Responsibilities include district-wide prevention programming for students and the college at large. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and occasional weekends, and district-wide service are required. QUALIFICATIONS 1. A master's degree in social work is required. 2. Three years of direct clinical social work/prevention and education experience is required. Higher education preferred. 3. One of the following credentials preferred: Certification by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), Illinois licensed social worker or counsellor; Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). 4. Successful completion of at least one counseling or social work practicum strongly preferred. 5. Comprehensive domestic violence/sexual assault training to be completed within one year of hire. 6. Knowledge of local/regional social service agencies is required. 7. Valid driver's license is required. 8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. 9. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. 10. Prior experience with program planning for diverse populations is required. STARTING PAY AND HOURS Follows Adjunct salary schedule as outlined in the Adjunct Faculty Union Agreement.
