Position: Assistant Project Manager - Mechanical Location: Queen Creek, AZ Yates is proud to be an industry leader in construction and engineering services. Skills and Experience: The Assistant Project Manager assists and supports the Project Manager on assigned projects. The position works under direct supervision, performs routine daily activities and gathers and distributes information. The qualified individual must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills. Requirements: * B.S. Degree in Construction Management or Engineering * 2-5 years of industry experience * Dependability * Computer proficiency including Microsoft suite of products * Broad understanding of construction industry * Strong communication skills (written and verbal) * Basic math/accounting skills * Functions effectively as part of a team * Time management skills and organizational skills * Ability to read drawings and specifications Essential Job Duties: * Assists with reports regarding financial performance of the project * Assist in preparation of monthly owner project status reports, as required * Attend and/or leads project meetings, as directed by Project Manager and record meeting minutes * Assist and/or complete project close-out * Assist in the review of Subcontractor monthly payment applications * Assist in coordinating punch list items and procedures * Perform quality control inspections * Setup initial contracts and project information * Resolving design coordination issues * Initiate, prepare, review, track and distribute RFIs and submittals * Assist in management of project permit process * Assist in preparations of bid packages and procurement * Identify long lead items and establish procurement priorities * Update construction schedule based on project team input * Change management systems, including soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing quotations and change orders * Track and inspect material deliveries Key Markets: * High rise structures including condominiums, apartments, and office * Retail * Industrial manufacturing * Federal & military construction * Gaming and entertainment * Hospitality The above description covers the principal duties and responsibilities of the job.
