PROGRAM OVERVIEW: Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County ("CCSCC") is one of the largest and longest-tenured nonprofit human service organizations in the Silicon Valley region. Tracing our origins back as far as 1929, our mission is to serve and advocate for individuals and families in need, especially those living in poverty. Rooted in gospel values, we work to create a more just and compassionate community in which people of all cultures and beliefs can participate and prosper. Catholic Charities changes lives for good by alleviating, preventing and reducing poverty through holistic and targeted strategies that disrupt poverty and promote economic mobility for Santa Clara County residents, including children, youth, adults, seniors, families, refugees and immigrants, people with disabilities, those engaged with the legal system, and other vulnerable populations, reaching over 86,000 people in the last year alone. Catholic Charities has launched a major operational initiative called Footsteps: Pathways to Self-Sufficiency. Footsteps is Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County's visionary approach to disrupting poverty through a family-centered, neighborhood-based, community change strategy that will enable families to get out of poverty and stay there. Our families are on a journey out of poverty and we will accompany them by 1) starting with families and their self-determination; 2) designing our services within supportive communities providing both personal help and the opportunity to advocate for policy solutions; and 3) integrating and coordinating services with a seamless holistic approach.
