During this internship, you will assist the Finance team in financial analysis. An intern will gain insight into management planning and analysis, will gain hands-on experience in budgeting and forecasting, and will experience the dynamics of a professional working environment in the Financial Industry. * Analyze and maintain revenue and cost performance measurement baselines and variance analyses. Communicate revenue/cost trends and quantifies for management attention/action. * Analyzes and reports risks and opportunities for improvement in both Division and Shared Service units. * Track, understand, and forecasts monthly financial results and key performance indicators based on historical trends. * Prepare month-end and year-to-date comparison of operating results with prior year and annual budget to be used in management reviews and strategic business analysis sessions. Reviews performance of previous month within two weeks of month previous close. * Support the budgeting and forecasting processes. * Work with accounting to manage accruals and other journal entries during month end close process. Minimum Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent * Enrolled in college-credit program with a declared major in a related field. * Ability to commit to 25-30 hour per week Factors for Success: * Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. * Some knowledge of, and some experience with, fundamental finance/economic principles. * Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with high attention to detail. * Must be a team player with the capability to function professionally in an office environment. * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions * Proficient with MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. * Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, speak clearly to clients and associates. * Excellent organizational and time management skills.
