Mainly provide individual and group tutorial assistance in Developmental English and Developmental Reading as related to instructors' syllabi. On occasion, assistance is also provided to students in other levels of English, as well as in related courses dealing with writing and speaking. * Orientate and register Developmental English classes to the L.A.C. to study and/or work on instructors' assigned topics on the computer, to do My Writing Lab       assignments, or to receive individual tutoring. * Keep individual records and files of students' daily attendance to the L.A.C. English area. * Prepare and provide tutorial aids for students' use: worksheets, textbook references, student workstation equipped with dictionaries, thesauruses, globes, and general supplies such as paper, pens, pencils, etc. * Compile and submit required reports demonstrating English area's effectiveness and success. * Confer with Developmental English Instructors on a regular basis for suggestions and ideas to help retain and increase student success in the classroom. * Monitor L.A.C. activity and assist students' general needs in order to maintain smooth and efficient operations. * Schedule, proctor, and/or administer the Accuplacer Test as assigned. * Accept and perform any other necessary duties requested by supervisor. * Attend necessary meetings and workshops. * Assume other responsibilities as needed or directed by supervisor. * Comply with all policies of the State Board of Education, the Department of Postsecondary Education, and Bishop State Community College * Other duties as assigned by the LAC/Peer Tutor Coordinator, Vice President of Instruction, and/or the President. Minimum Requirements: * Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university. * Eighteen (18) semester hours in English from an accredited college or university. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:       •Ability to work cooperatively with all students, faculty, and staff.       •Strong verbal and written communication skills.       •Experience in Student Support Programs and/or Developmental Education. Salary: ACCS Salary Schedule -E3 Grade 3  Continued employment is contingent upon funding from the grant. This position is on a non-tenured track.
